I offer counselling for adults on both a short-term or long-term basis. I work collaboratively with individuals, providing a safe and trusting relationship and a confidential and non-judgemental space to talk things through. I help individuals to make sense of their situation, and reach their own solutions. My approach is integrative with a combination of person-centred and psychodynamic with an aim of helping individuals acquire a deeper understanding and awareness of themselves.. I can help clients work through trauma and childhood events. I also offer clients a faith-based Islamic perspective to explore their dilemmas.
I have experience working with a range of issues including trauma, depression, bereavement, relationship issues and self-esteem. I have a deep understanding of cultural/religious issues affecting British Muslims as well as around the Islamic faith. I have previously worked as a university counsellor and manager and can provide support to university students.
I have worked in different organisational settings and am currently the clinical lead for a faith-based counselling service in a mosque. I work via telephone or video (online) sessions. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine whether we are able to work together.
