You may be seeking therapy for greater self-understanding, symptom relief, or improved relationships. Whatever your goals, we will work collaboratively to bring your thoughts, feelings, and desires into conscious awareness to understand how they impact your relationships and the way you navigate the world. As a therapist, I have a warm, empathic, and direct style. I work primarily from a relational psychodynamic base and weave in CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and compassion-focused techniques to target symptoms, improve the mind-body connection, and enhance overall well-being.
I have extensive experience working with complex trauma and its sequelae, including personality disorders, substance misuse disorders, and mood disorders (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder). I additionally value reflecting on identity and the intersections of race, sexuality, gender, immigration history, and socioeconomic status on well-being.
Therapy with me will feel like a conversation in which we are both fully engaged for the purpose of furthering your self-discovery and healing. We will work together to gain insights into how your past has shaped your present while developing the skills necessary to make the change you want for your future.

Groups
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

DBT is a skills-based group that integrates Eastern philosophical principles with Western behavioural psychology, to help individuals find balance between opposing ideas, such as acceptance and change, and emotion and reason. Each group begins with a mindfulness exercise and then moves onto topics on emotion regulation, distress tolerance tolerating distress, and interpersonal effectiveness. Group members develop skills and insight in these areas, and will be expected to practice new skills between sessions. Get in touch to join the waitlist for the Monday evening group. An intake will be required to determine goodness of fit.
