As one of my favourite bands say, 'Modern Life is Rubbish' and often our friends and family are not the easiest to talk to. It can be freeing to have someone outwith your normal circles to talk through life's complexities with. You might know exactly why you want to attend counselling, be that low mood, anxiety, trauma, struggles associated with neurodiversity or grief, or you may not know why, but something just doesn't feel right or you feel a bit stuck. Whatever it is, I will always meet you with curiosity rather than judgement, offering a safe space to offload, process and explore your feelings and experiences.
As an integrative practitioner I use theories and techniques from different counselling modalities including person centred, psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to inform my work. This means I will adapt my style to find what works best for you. I work creatively to ensure you get the most from therapy.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, it can make you feel vulnerable to talk about personal experiences or you might have fear over what you may uncover. I always work in a considerate way in order to keep you feeling safe and unjudged- we go at your pace.
