Hi. I’m Mark, a clinical psychologist, CAT therapist & EMDR practitioner. I’ve worked in NHS Mental Health for 20 years. Most of my work has involved helping people recover from psychological trauma or assisting them to understand and resolve persistent relationship difficulties. I often work with people who are struggling with overwhelming emotions. It’s possible to recover morale and experience greater resourcefulness and wellbeing even in distressing circumstances.
To begin we'd think together about what you want to come to terms with or change. There may be several ways working and we'd weigh options carefully. I'd want to you have a grasp of what the therapy looks like in advance. Where necessary we'd do preparation work to build resilience. Therapy should never overwhelm. See below for more on therapies I offer.
You need to feel confident in your therapist and that they are a good fit for you. I offer a free online 30min consultation so you can meet me, discuss your requests and consider therapy options. This may help you to decide whether I’m likely to be a good therapist for you. Therapy sessions can be either in person or online and are for the full 60min hour.
