Hello! I'm Richard. You may have arrived here as you may be experiencing some distress or navigating a specific struggle and are hoping to find some clarity in what’s going on for you. We all experience difficulties occasionally and life can be challenging sometimes. Finding a therapist that is right for you is key, particularly because mutually nourishing relationships with others are essential for your emotional wellbeing. It is normal and healthy to seek support because we don’t have to face any issue alone. It’s okay to want to find the missing piece of your puzzle.

I am am an empathic, respectful, fully qualified psychotherapist. I also offer supervision to trainee counsellors and therapists. I am the owner and practice manager of Inner Space Counselling Ltd. in central Tunbridge Wells/Sevenoaks. I view counselling and psychotherapy as a dynamic process, created between the two of us so I offer my clients the opportunity to work collaboratively with me in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Typically, my approach to psychotherapy is to play an active part. I intervene, reflect, share theory if appropriate, and ask questions. I am relaxed, straightforward and non-judgemental.

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, sometimes in crisis, sometimes tired from carrying around the effects from their past and often exhausted from the pressures within their everyday lives. Whatever has brought you to a place where you are seeking help I believe that given a non-judgemental, safe space, in which to sift through everything, we all posess an inherent ability to heal. Deep down we know what is good for us and what isn't working for us and given the opportunity to peel off all of those defenses that we wrongly assume protect us from something, we have the potential to not only heal but to grow.
