My first career was in writing software. My second career was in startups. I draw on scientific psychology as well as other traditions such as philosophy, literature, art. I favour time-limited work, so I work best with people who are happy to do some work outside our sessions.
Areas I have a particular interest in: overcoming anxiety, managing ADHD, moving on, overcoming shame and impostor syndrome, adapting to parenthood, retirement, illness, loss, breakups, and people who are new to therapy.
Therapy is about thinking feelingly. In our sessions, I aim for a mix of cognitive work (talking through your situation to understand it better) and experiential work (feeling your feelings). Change happens when thoughts & feelings harmonise and both agree on the same course of action.
