MaggieThinkwell
Counsellor, MBACP
It is a bit scary deciding if you need counselling, wondering what it will be like, fitting it into your life, maintaining it. There will be many questions running through your head, and maybe, right now, no answers. And that's okay. It isn't an easy decision but once it is made, those feelings will start to move. If you chose to work with me, the first session will be getting to know what will help. Offering Person Centred Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Expressive and Creative Arts, we will look at which intervention suits you and which would be best for the difficulties you are experiencing.
At your own pace and in a nurturing environment, a PC approach will explore causes of distress, setting long term goals and promoting wellbeing. Looking at habit formation I use CBT, where emphasis is put on the interaction between thoughts, feelings and behaviour with a view to change. Hypnotherapy elicits strength and healing through gentle suggestion.
My name is Maggie Leigh and hopefully I will be able to help you. I have been a Counsellor for 20 years and still learn every day. Whether working with children or adults, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the vital foundation from which to build and grow whilst developing personal insights, techniques, and strategies for self growth.

I run expressive therapeutic workshops every two months to promote personal growth and healing through art and media. These can be tailored to suit specific need and can include collage, pastel work, painting, miniatures, clay, free writing and guided visual relaxation. This is a very gentle form of exploring inner thoughts and feelings and offers a direct route to cathartic release.
