When our children are struggling with significant emotional distress, it is extremely difficult for them and for you. I aim to support a child or young person with dignity and respect, working with a sensitive individual approach to suit their needs. I use the relationship between myself and the child at the centre of the therapy. I then guide the therapeutic process using theories from Attachment, psychodynamic, Gestalt and neuroscience's somatic research. This knowledge informs my understanding of a child's developmental traumas, often the foundations of the current problematic thinking and behaviours being experienced.
I offer open-ended therapy which lends itself to any depth of work and is suitable for any issue a child or young person is experiencing, as well as the specific needs of neurodiverse children. I use a combination of talking therapy, interpretative play and the use of creative mediums such as arts, crafts and sand tray.
