I help people relate, establish healthy relationships and to be heard. As a systemic, psychodynamic and Relate trained relationship counsellor, I help people with issues individually or as a couple. Life phases throw up issues around marriage, parenting, empty nesting, retirement , separation and the way we relate to others. I work through these and consider underlying issues, patterns of conflict, communication challenges, parental differences, feelings about roles and responsibilities, beliefs from childhood or difficult life obstacles.
I listen to your story. I reflect what I have heard and help you to look at the developed behaviours. Together we can identify helpful and unhelpful parts. We can then move our emphasis to resolution. I use person centred, psychodynamic and systemic practices to inform the support and interventions chosen.
It is my task to work with you to help you identify the situations that cause issues to surface and to listen to where you think things come from, so that, together, we can better see how you want to go forward.
