I enjoy working with many different client issues but particularly those that are trauma related. I believe that we all have the potential to bring about positive change in our lives whatever our past experiences and therefore I always seek to provide hope. It is a particular delight to work with clients who reflect on the sessions between appointments however I am aware that for many individuals attending sessions can be well outside their comfort zone. I therefore adopt a gentle, encouraging approach allowing clients to work at their own pace.
I can offer therapy for many different issues but particularly those that are related to past trauma including adverse childhood experiences. I offer integrative therapy tailoring the counselling to suit the needs of the client. My integrative model is client focused at its core and includes CBT and creative elements.
It is important that you feel comfortable working with me. Before counselling commences I offer a free half hour assessment session where I will take down some details and you get the opportunity to explain why you are seeking counselling. There is no obligation to continue with the counselling following the assessment.
