I work relationally with the clients I see, aiming to build a shared understanding of their difficulties. Using integrative techniques (including evidence based psychodynamic, existential, humanistic & cognitive behavioural modalities) I focus on encouraging individuals/couples to identify their existing challenges, build an understanding of themselves & their situation, & reflect on why they may feel the way they do. Through this process it is possible to build long term resilience & a more robust sense of self, having identified patterns of relating to others. This includes developing skills & techniques for coping in the future.
I am a chartered counselling psychologist with over a decade of experience. I have worked in charitable organisations, the NHS & private sector, supporting individuals, couples & families with a range of different concerns. I offer both short & long term therapy - as well as offering general support, I specialise in oncology, palliative care & bereavement.
A free initial call initially offers a safe space to explore your concerns, as well as an opportunity to consider whether we can work together. We will explore aims of therapy and agree how we will work in sessions, ensuring that there are regular reviews & opportunities for feedback. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, based on trust & rapport.
