There are many reasons why you might decide to engage with therapy. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by your emotions or disconnected from them. It might be that you would like support to process a life event, or relationship challenges that feel difficult to hold on your own. Maybe different ‘parts’ of you want different things and that conflict prevents you from moving forward. My role is to listen and hear you fully, working to understand what it is like to be in your shoes. Experience has taught me that therapy can be transformative, allowing us the freedom to be ourselves and work towards positive, lasting change.
I have worked and continue to work with the following: anger, anxiety, depression, ASC, bereavement/loss, low self-esteem, family/relationship issues, birth stories, illness, mid-life identity, ageing, stress, shame, trauma, redundancy, PMDD, peri-menopause/menopause symptoms. I also work with sand tray as a creative alternative to purely dialogical work.
We will work at a pace that suits you and I will support you to develop your self-awareness, offering challenges where it might be useful. Where appropriate, this may include working relationally. This means reflecting on how we interact as two people, which can be a rich seam for exploring how you might then relate to people in your day to day life.
