I’m Louise, a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working in the NHS with children, young people and parents. At your initial appointment, I will offer a friendly and welcoming space to think about what is troubling you or your family and explore what you hope to achieve through therapy. We will work together in partnership, drawing on your expertise about your family, and my knowledge and practical experience of a range of different evidence-based psychological therapies to reach your goals. Sessions may involve working individually with children, young people or parents, or family work.
With so many different types of therapy and therapists to choose from, finding a psychologist can feel overwhelming and confusing. I am always happy to offer a short telephone consultation to explain more about my approach and how we might work together. This can help us both decide if we are ‘a good fit’ and then arrange an initial appointment as needed.
I prefer to work face to face, in-person and can offer appointments during my private clinic on a Monday each week. I also hold a research post at the University of Oxford, focusing on how we can communicate effectively with children when they or a family member has a serious illness.
