We may find it helpful to talk problems through with someone close to us, but sometimes friends and family can not help and we need to speak to a professional therapist. I will spend time talking with you to understand your difficulties and to help you identify the roots of your problem and identify what you want to change in your life. In doing so we can find a way to work together to help you to reach your goals. I have worked with issues surrounding, anxiety, depression, trauma (including PTSD), low self esteem, stress, emotional management difficulties, phobias, OCD, relationship difficulties, and grief.
Many clients I work with struggle to be kind to themselves. I work from the basis that helping people develop self-kindness will guide them towards ways to manage their suffering. I understand that coming to therapy may cause worry and uncertainty. I will be compassionate and non judgemental, giving you the safety to be open about your concerns.
The work I offer is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I have worked with people with mental health issues, personality disorders, and individuals who have no diagnosis and who need support and guidance to live their life they way they want.
