I have 30 years experience working with adults, children and young people in a variety of NHS settings. This has included providing cognitive behavioural therapy for adults and young people overcoming addiction, providing specialist assessment and therapy programmes for children and families in an NHS CAMHS team and more recently providing psychological therapy for adults with depression and anxiety problems.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy helps you examine your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and how they impact on each other, how they keep your difficulties going and may be holding you back in life. The therapy relationship is a collaborative one that enables you to develop new understandings of your problems and develop new more helpful ways to move forward.
Cognitive behaviour therapy is considered to be one of the most effective forms of psychotherapy to come along in recent years. This reflects my own experience of helping people make significant changes through therapy and leading happier more fulfilled lives as a consequence.
