Adult and child centred interventions underpinned by trauma informed practice. Hello...My name is Lorraine Diston, I am a post graduate Person-Centred counsellor, play therapist and Clinical Supervisor with a specialism of working with trauma, abuse and bereavement. I work with children and young people through the medium of play and creativity as well as adults and families experiencing difficult feelings and discord. I provide freelance counselling services to schools, colleges and charities.
The therapy I offer allows children, adolescents and adults the space to express and communicate their feelings in a warm non-judgmental space, helping them alleviate emotional conditions that are causing problems and/or preventing them realising their potential. I offer CBT interventions where it maybe necessary to change negative pattens of thinking.
Person-Centred Therapy is adult /child led therapy. Whether working with adults or children I work at your pace, building a trusting relationship is key to counselling. I will be beside every step of the way. We will work together to bring unconscious thoughts and behaviours to the forefront of your mind and safely explore them, allowing for change.
