Hello, my name is Lorna and I'm here to help. Do you have a problem that you are finding hard to resolve or maybe feeling down, but unsure what the problem is. Either way I am here to support you and help you to make sense of your difficulties. I am gentle in nature, have much empathy and completely non- judgemental. I will create a warm, safe space enabling you to feel comfortable, allowing us to explore your difficulties and find solutions together.
I have worked in the area of mental health for over 20 yrs. I have been a counsellor for 13 yrs. I can also offer specialised support for anxiety, depression, panic, worry, phobias, and OCD. I also have expert knowledge around issues relating to alcohol and drugs, and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). I am also a qualified EMDR therapist.
Drawing on evidence based practice I work in a way where the intervention is designed uniquely for you. I am trained in several approaches such as relational, CBT, CFT, and ACT, although my main focus is to take an integrative approach, treating each client as an individual, deciding which approach or a combination of the above is going to help the most.
