People come to me for many reasons – depression, anxiety, addictive or compulsive behaviour, trauma, loss, family issues, relationship problems. Sometimes it's to navigate a life stage or make sense of one particular event or crisis; sometimes clients just can't seem to live life as they want to.
I welcome clients of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
My previous career was the arts and media so I often see clients with an interest in developing or exploring their creativity in some way.
My main approach is psychodynamic, so we talk about where and how potential patterns originate, how they impact on your life and relationships now and then together work out ways to achieve the shift you are looking for. I have dealt with all kinds of addiction issues for two decades now and can work with clients on any 12-step programme.
Psychotherapy helps people make sense of their life and often clients want to change in some way but can't manage it alone. My aim is to be sympathetic and supportive but also, though my extensive training and experience, provide an honesty and insight into clients' lives that they often can't find elsewhere.
