About
Hi and welcome to my profile! I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with the BABCP. We can all experience difficult times in our lives that we may require help and support with. When we experience distress we can often have negative feelings and thoughts which can influence how we might behave or deal with a certain situation. We can often find ourselves in a vicious cycle of negative thoughts and behaviours that can be hard to break. CBT works on a 'here and now' basis, exploring your current difficulties and give you effective coping strategies to be able to make changes in your life and move forwards.
CBT sessions are provided on a 1:1 basis either face-to-face or via telephone/online and are collaborative in nature. This means that you will work together with your therapist to explore and help understand your difficulties, the impact they are having on your life and ways to make changes to your current situation for a more positive future.
I have over 18 years experience working in the fields of both mental health and addictions, working in a variety of clinical settings. I understand that talking about personal issues can be very difficult, so I aim to make you feel comfortable to be able to open up. Thus it is important to tailor the treatment appropriately to your own individual needs.
