I have extensive experience working with primary school aged children using play and creative arts to explore difficult experiences. Through Play Therapy, children can express themselves in a safe and accepting environment, working towards understanding their emotions, and making sense of their life experiences. Therapy starts with a meeting with the adults around the child so that I can understand concerns and gain an insight into the child's history and support system.
I also offer Therapeutic Life Story Work, this is a way to help care experienced children to make sense of their past and understand the journey of their identity. This direct work provides the child with vital information about their past, works through traumas, helps them to make sense of current behaviours and feelings.
