About
I am an accredited and registered play therapist (PTUK). I take referrals from schools, parents and other agencies. Play therapy is a form of child psychotherapy which can help children to process intense emotions. It can provide a safe and protected space where children can play out traumatic memories or intense feelings. Play therapy can enable children to heal from early trauma and provide them with an opportunity to build the resilience needed to function in school, their family and their community. It involves the use of the play therapy toolkit which includes; puppets, sand play, art materials, role play, stories and music.
I offer individual play therapy sessions. I can also conduct assessments and complete reports. I have worked for the Behaviour Support Service for many years with excluded children and Wakefield SENSS and I have vast experience of working with children with complex behaviours and special needs. I also provide INSET training to schools on a range of topics.
If you feel that play therapy would be appropriate for your child please get in touch.
