Life is challenging for all of us. Sometimes we hit a trigger and we feel in crisis. Often talking to friends and family is difficult, yet we still need a safe, confidential space to off load our feelings. Counselling gives us that time and space to explore our feelings, free from any judgement. It helps to build resilience and to identify any negative behaviour and thought patterns that may be making life more difficult for us. It helps us to develop a greater self awareness of what is working and not working for us in both personal and professional relationships. It doesn't solve everything but it helps to give a greater choice.
I work with adults and young adults across the private, employee assistance programme and charity sectors as well as the Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. Working with a wide range of presenting problems I have considerable experience in both long and short term therapy, including CBT. I specialise in personal growth, life transitions and relationship issues.
I approach each client as unique, free from labels or prejudgement. I integrate therapeutic approaches to help you understand why you feel the way you do. I believe one of the most important parts of counselling is developing a strong therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust and collaboration.
