Life, what's it all about? It can bring unexpected joy and/or unwanted challenges. However, we know that those challenges which create psychological and physical strains can preoccupy us the most. As a counsellor, I have a longstanding interest in supporting children, young people and adults who are going through difficult times. I will listen and engage with empathy, thereby making easier for you to feel safe as you share your thoughts and experiences.
My post-qualifying awards include Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Levels 1 & 2. DDP attends to the voice to the child/young person who, typically, lives with their second family (e.g., foster-carer(s), kinship, or adoptive). It also moves the focus away from behaviour management by coaching the nurturers on how to create healthier relational bonds.
In choosing to invite me to work with you, I will provide the supportive space you may need to work through whatever it is that brought you to non-crisis counselling. This may include a one-off session if that's all you need.
