Welcome. My name is Lesley Barker. I am a registered member of the BACP and pre accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the IACP, qualified to work with adults.
I previously worked as a physiotherapist for 27 years, specialising in critical care and cardiac rehabilitation. I worked closely with clients, carers and families affected by chronic illness. This has given me a deep appreciation of the powerful connection between body, mind and emotion - and the importance of psychological support in physical and emotional healing.
I am trauma-informed, offering a calm, supportive environment for adults to explore their experiences in an empathetic environment. My therapeutic approach is Humanistic, Integrative and Person-Centred. I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can begin to make sense of what is happening and move towards healing at a pace that feels right for you.
