About
For many the process of counselling is new and it can feel daunting. At times the decision to stay start therapy is prompted by a life event, recent or historic. Some people start therapy because of difficult feelings and thoughts; these can be life long and impact on relationships. Another reason for seeking help can be because of certain patterns of relating that are not helpful or because of a sense that personal needs are not being met. Whatever the reasons , acknowledging the difficulties and contacting a counsellor is the first step.
I am an experienced therapist and counselling tutor working with adults and young people. I am qualified as an Integrative Counsellor and I have experience and in several approaches. As a member of the BACP my practice is underpinned by the ethical requirements of the ethical framework. I offer a safe and confidential space for one to one therapy.
The relationship between client and counsellor is key and I will provide a period of time in our session when I will focus entirely on you, the client. Through exploration of thoughts and feelings you will become self aware and learn more about why you respond as you do. I will remain present with you in the process without opinion to consider your needs.
