I am a highly specialist psychoanalytic Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist working with children, adolescents and young adults (aged 0-25), their families and carers as well as with the networks that support them.
I often see those experiencing high levels of distress (anxiety, depression, relational difficulties) making them feel low, confused, angry, lonely or can end up being communicated through challenging behaviours.
I work compassionately and understand that everyone has different needs. I therefore tailor my approach to develop a unique treatment plan for each young person and family that helps and suits them.
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy seeks to look beneath the surface of difficult emotions, behaviours and relationships to help children, adolescents and their families to understand themselves and their problems.
Younger children might play whilst adolescents/ young adults generally talk to help them explore themselves and their relationships.
It can feel incredibly lonely and disempowering when going through struggles. Reaching out can be hard and the possibility of change can feel hard to imagine. Over many years I have provided a space to help those understand themselves and begin to make the changes to feel more secure and settled.
