Working within the mental health and safeguarding arena’s for many years I have nurtured a genuine fascination for people and their individual stories. I am able to employ this diverse experience to inform my practice as a Psychotherapist. As a Counsellor for Rape Crisis I have significant experience of working with survivors of sexual violence and trauma. Additionally, I have worked with the Police service for 18 years, developing a passion for working individually with emergency services, medical or armed forces personnel to help them process the many sources of trauma they encounter in their working lives.

You may feel weighed down by past experiences, anxious or low, or stuck in patterns that don’t seem to shift. Perhaps you’ve tried coping on your own or even had therapy before, but something still feels unresolved. You might struggle in relationships, feel disconnected, or simply know that life could feel lighter. My clients are those who long to understand themselves more deeply, heal from the past, and create calmer, more fulfilling lives.

Having worked with adults across a range of issues, my practice is now focussed towards couples and individuals struggling with relationship issues. My aim is to support couples to create positive, alive, joyful relationships which will not only enhance their own lives, but also provide a secure and loving foundation for any children. Usually this means couples come together, but sometimes I work with individuals who recognise the need to address the way they relate to others and want to bring about change in this area of their lives.

Hi – I'm Jo.  I’m a Counselling Psychotherapist and EMDR Practitioner. I work with adults and young people (15+). Sometimes life will present us with challenges and difficulties that we struggle to make sense of, or that make us feel stuck and unable to move forward positively. We may have experienced trauma /relational traumas. Not knowing what to do or how to be when we have these experiences can create a diverse set of uncomfortable feelings. Its different for everyone; whilst one person may feel overwhelmed or isolated, another may struggle with negative thoughts, anger, anxiety or depression. Perhaps this sounds like you?

Hi there, I'm James - a psychotherapist based in Kettering, Northants. I know it can be a daunting prospect reaching out to a therapist and trying to figure out the approach that's right for you. I work predominantly with people who feel stuck in some aspect of their lives, who are struggling to make sense of, or move beyond experiences that happened to them, or seem to keep tripping themselves up no matter what they try. If you feel like there's something in the way you experience the world that's stopping you from moving forward effectively, I can help you become aware of, and process, the blocks so that you can move more freely.

I’m a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), with a strong foundation in psychology that underpins my approach. I offer clear, practical support while also providing space for deeper exploration if that feels right for you. I hold a master’s degree in counselling and psychotherapy and bring over fifteen years of professional experience to our work. As a Registered Member of the BACP and a Senior Accredited Member of the NCPS, I work integratively, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as CBT alongside integrative psychotherapy, so sessions can be both structured and reflective, depending on what’s most helpful.

Is your child having issues at school and at home? School life can be stressful for young people today and even a bright student can struggle at some point in their school career. Slipping grades and behavioral issues may be indicators that your child is facing some social and emotional challenges. Some of these outward and internal personal struggles are a normal part of growing up, especially during adolescence. Sometimes children need some strategies to cope and build self confidence, and an impartial listener who is neither a parent or a teacher!

Therapy is a beginning, an opportunity for understanding, self-acceptance, personal growth and change. We often do not treat ourselves with the same kindness, compassion and understanding as we treat others and this can take a toll on how we feel, function and relate to others. Therapy gives you time for you, to explore what you are feeling and why you are feeling a certain way, this helps to better understand your needs in order to move to a more fulfilled and happier way of being. I have a particular interest in relationships and how we are in relationships, as this can have a huge impact on our personal wellbeing.

Life can feel heavy when past wounds keep resurfacing. Maybe you’re lying awake at night, replaying painful memories, or struggling with anger, shame, or self-doubt. If you’ve been through trauma, bullying, or abuse, you may also turn to alcohol or drugs to cope — and still feel stuck. You don’t have to carry this alone. Therapy can be a space where you feel truly heard, believed, and supported.

I understand life can be very tough now in a post-Pandemic world where people are struggling for connection and meaning. I can help you remove internal barriers preventing you from fulfilling your potential by re-wiring how you view yourselves and your future using evidence-based CBT principles. Subtle shifts in our ways of thinking and behaving can produce drastic changes in our lives and I want to help show you that your goals and dreams are possible. Mental health challenges can shrink our worlds, and by treating the specific difficulty impacting your life, you can show up in the world as the best version of yourself again.
