Life is full of events, relationships, stresses and strains and all these impact on us in many different ways. It can affect all the important things to us such as school, work, relationships and our own perception of ourselves. This can be tiring and overwhelming. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way and I believe strongly that a person can benefit from having a space to discuss their feelings and develop ideas and strategies to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Hi, I'm Ella - the integrative counsellor behind Under the Willow Counselling and Therapy. Have you ever felt unseen, unheard, misunderstood? Has this made you feel alone, lost, or disconnected from yourself? Maybe you have developed anxiety or depression, relationships have become tense, work is unmanageable, or you have poor coping skills. You are not alone in this.

It’s scary admitting to yourself that you need help; and that you’re struggling with whatever is causing you to feel unhappy, dysregulated or distressed. Due to stigma, people feel that they can only access therapy when they are at breaking point; when in fact you can access therapy whenever you need to. My background is in working with abuse survivors, and those who have experienced trauma. As a result I work with narcissism, depression, low self esteem, shame, loneliness, hopelessness, grief & loss, anger, self harm and suicidal feelings as well as a broad range of other factors and experiences clients bring to their sessions.

You perform well in training, but when it matters most, in competition, under pressure, and with high stakes. Your mind goes blank. Confidence disappears. You choke under pressure. I'm Tsvetelina Nenkova, a Sport & Performance Psychologist (HCPC). For six years, I've worked with athletes across multiple sports, helping them master the mental game. I use evidence-based approaches like ACT and Mental Skill Training to help you build unshakeable confidence, manage competitive anxiety, and perform your best when it counts. You don't need to train harder. You need a mind that works for you, not against you. Let's work on that!

Welcome. The roots of my practice stem from my belief that a caring, non-judgemental attitude in a safe space is core to nurturing mental wellbeing. I have over 10 years experience therapeutically helping adults and young people 13+. Untangling lives and emotions is a complex unique process however, through therapy we can notice and nurture that which you need. My approach to therapy is to meet you where you are at. Empathic acceptance of how you experience life now allows space for new insight to grow and change to occur.

People choose to have counselling for many reasons. Sometimes we may know the cause but feel stuck with emotions that we can’t seem to change or we can’t understand why we have felt this way for this long. Sometimes there doesn’t seem to be an obvious explanation for how we feel. We may have feelings of low moods, anxiety or feeling overwhelmed but we just can’t put a finger on why. We may also feel isolated or alone in this and that other people wouldn’t understand. Talking through these feelings with a therapist can help to explore these thoughts and feelings to better understand the causes, and explore ways to work through them.
