People come to me for many different reasons; you might be struggling to cope with a recent change in your life, or you might be experiencing ongoing struggles with anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, self-doubt, self-criticism, compulsive behaviours, addictions, difficult relationships, to name a few. I am especially experienced with traumatic bereavement, through personal experience and having volunteered for three years at a Bereavement Service, supporting people following difficult losses, such as suicide. I provide a non-judgemental, confidential space for you to explore experience, whatever brings you here.
Often our difficulties have roots in our early relationships and traumatic experiences, which take time to become aware of and process. As a Gestalt therapist I pay particular attention to your experience in the present moment, especially your embodied experience, as I work with the understanding that everything important from our past is here now.
Ultimately, more than any particular type of therapy I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship. It’s in sharing yourself with someone you feel safe that can difficult feelings become bearable, and we can find the courage to really face our pain.
The first step is to meet me for an initial assessment to see if we might be a good fit.
