We all need support at one time or another and the fact that you are reading this tells me that you are curious about reaching out for that support, either for yourself or a loved one. This can be a very worrying time, and one that needs to be dealt with gently and with great consideration. I've worked with clients ranging in age from 4 - 100, across a variety of locations and environments in my time. Physical and emotional change can happen at any age and that is the focus of my work - facilitating change for my clients. I work face-to face from Harrogate and also online with clients aged 12 and upwards.
I am a Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner with a specialism in children, young people and adults. Therapy with very young children is all in the metaphor and play and I work from a beautiful setting in Harrogate where we can 'get messy', play games, work in the sand or 'just talk'. My adult work is also client led, gentle and at depth.
Acknowledging that support is needed and reaching out into the unknown is not an easy thing to do. Exploring painful and confusing feelings involves a lot of trust in the other. The vital component in choosing and working with a therapist, whatever their mode or qualifications is experiencing a safe and positive therapeutic alliance.
