Hi, I’m Laura and I’m a Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Therapist and mental health nurse with around 15 years' experience in mental healthcare, CBT and counselling. I have worked within the NHS (including significant child & adolescent mental health (CAMHS) experience), university voluntary and private sectors. I support adults and children who may be struggling with: anxiety (including generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety, social anxiety), depression and low mood, OCD, phobias, low self-esteem, perfectionism, body image difficulties and body dysmorphia, stress, panic disorder and panic attacks, trauma and sleep difficulties.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an effective, evidence-based therapy that helps to identify unhelpful patterns in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours and aims to challenge and change these. Therapy will follow a structure, whilst also being adapted to your needs and differences.
My clients describe me as kind, compassionate, non-judgmental and empathetic. I enjoy working with people to create positive and meaningful changes that they are able to maintain after therapy. Outside of work, I am an avid yoga practitioner, I love walking, reading and spending time with my family.
