If you're struggling with anxiety or depression at the moment then I can help. At the heart of my work is the belief that our earliest relationships shape how we see ourselves and connect with others. I help clients explore potentially hidden patterns of trust and security that may be having an impact on their relationships, emotions, and sense of self. I provide a supportive space for you to slow down, reflect, and explore what’s happening beneath the surface. By bringing these into the open, you can begin to create new ways of relating, heal from old wounds and develop a more authentic sense of self.

We can all find life hard at times. It can throw up difficulties that feel overwhelming and out of our control. I support adults and teenagers through a range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship issues and Asperger Syndrome. When we experience distress, sadness, loneliness, anxiety or depressed mood, it can feel difficult to bear and leave us feeling powerless. Working alongside a therapist means you need not face these difficulties alone.

You’re capable and organised in many areas of life, yet food can feel like the one thing that unravels. You start the day feeling in control, but by evening you’re eating in a way that doesn’t match what you truly want. Then comes the guilt, the promise to “start fresh tomorrow,” and the cycle repeats. Food struggles are often tied to stress, emotions, and deep-rooted coping patterns. For some, especially those with ADHD (diagnosed or not), eating can become a way to manage stimulation, focus, or overwhelm. Many only realise the link during therapy.

I see that all behaviours such as self-harm, suicide attempts, drinking, drug abuse and other impulsive behaviours have developed as coping strategies to cope with and numb difficult emotions and experiences. These behaviours often act as a plaster to a deeper wound, but just like a plaster they don’t really ever fully heal unless they have time to heal properly. This is the work of therapy to take off the plaster and look more towards the root causes of the behaviour to work out what is going on for you. My instagram page offers an insight to how I work and might be helpful to get a further sense of how I work psychwithemma

Life can feel overwhelming at times, particularly with the current economic and environmental uncertainty. Anxiety, depression and loneliness are common issues many people face on top of relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, and trauma. Therapy offers the chance to talk about what is bothering you in a warm, empathic and confidential space. I am a registered psychodynamic psychotherapist with the BPC & BACP and have found that by giving someone the space to talk and reflect on how they feel, and where those feelings come from, enables them to understand themselves better.

Hi, my name is Sharon and I help young adults (14+) to heal from family wounds and build stronger relationships. If you grew up with a parent who struggled with addiction, or without the presence and stability of a loving caregiver, its no surprise adult relationships may feel confusing, overwhelming or unsafe. I help young adults to make sense of their relationship patterns so they can build the kind of relationships they never had modelled - grounded in trust, respect and emotional security.

Clients often come to see me with struggles in their relationships, symptoms of anxiety or experiences of depression. Sometimes people know of relationships, specific events, or thinking patterns that are causing them difficulties, other times they just know they are feeling low and are looking for help. Guided by my clients, I set out to establish individual goals for therapy and hope to tailor the sessions as much as possible to the person. Your sessions, will be what you need them to be, whether that is sitting with grief and silence, understanding the nervous system, or getting expressive with crayons.

All of us experience challenges in our lives and sometimes these challenges are difficult to carry. You may be feeling stressed, angry, anxious, confused, inadequate or overwhelmed with sadness. You may feel isolated with your thoughts and feelings. Sitting within a confidential and supportive environment with someone you can trust and who will listen, can help you understand and make sense of your situation.
