I have a warm, empathic and supportive counselling style. As a relational therapist I place the client – counsellor relationship at the centre of the therapeutic work. Counselling is confidential, collaborative, and clients always have autonomy over the direction and duration of their therapy. I work with adults and young people aged 16 plus in person from safe and comfortable therapy rooms in Henley on Thames. I am experienced in working with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties but many clients come to see me for help and support in navigating difficult feelings and life stages.
As an integrative therapist I am able to draw on various therapeutic theories and techniques to meet you wherever you may be. This allows me to combine aspects of person-centred counselling which looks at how things affect us in the present with psychodynamic counselling which involves making links with past events and relationships.
Coming to see a counsellor can feel daunting. However, talking to someone who can hold space for you and who has been trained to listen to your story empathically and help you make sense of your experiences can be profoundly helpful. It can help you move towards feeling a greater sense of calm and freedom from whatever has previously been holding you back.
