Hello, I'm Kawita. Maybe you don't know what you're looking for from counselling. You might be feeling misunderstood, confused, isolated, stuck, and that something just isn't right. Or maybe there is something specific on your mind. I have supported clients with all kinds issues ranging from a general sense of being lost and identity issues, to more specific issues such as depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, body dysmorphia, injuries, family/relationship difficulties, and abuse. No matter your situation, I will work together with you to really understand the depth and meaning of what's going on in your life. No issue is too small.
My way of working is psychodynamic, so I see the emotional and relationship patterns we fall into as related to our past experiences; although we've moved on in some ways they still exist as echoes in our current experiences. By becoming curious and working creatively with these echoes we can develop insight and more self-compassion to help us move forward.
I believe that one of the most important things for our relationship is a collaborative approach where both of our thoughts are key, so I encourage your own insights too rather than seeing myself as the all-knowing expert.
