Receiving criticism and having conditions and opinions put on you, may prevent you from being your real self, impacting your confidence and self-belief. Carrying shame and guilt may mean you put yourself down and compare yourself to others. Not feeling good enough and unheard can be overwhelming, increasing anxiety and low mood.
