If you’re struggling and feel you are in need of support then it’s knowing who you can turn to for support and seek the answers you’re after. Why not consider counselling, it can help with issues from anxiety to self-harm. Counselling can offer you an opportunity to understand why you may feel that way, help your mindset change and allow you to grow and flourish as best as you want to. Children and young people want to feel as "normal" as possible and to not feel like the outsider who may be struggling. The end result is for them to own who they are. And this is possible if you want to give counselling a go if you're aged 11-18.
I'm an integrative counsellor, I adapt my way of work depending on your situation and your wants and needs from counselling. Sometimes listening, talking through techniques and goal setting can be the main tools to help you achieve your outcomes. You need to feel comfortable and know the speed of the counselling will be at your pace with me alongside you.
Counselling can be daunting, but it can be a powerful journey. Being able to be that professional who can empathise, listen and help where necessary has been my goal since secondary school. Reflecting over past sessions with clients, gives them the confidence that they can achieve anything if they need a little help or that they can put their mind to it.
