Understanding your subjective experience will underpin our sessions with the ultimate aim to harness your tendency towards change or growth and the fulfillment of your potential. I seek to build a non-judgmental relationship that is based on openness and allows for mutual exploration of the content that you bring. This process may lead to greater self-understanding, changes in behavior, new ways of coping, and improved wellbeing.
Issues I commonly work with are: anxiety, depression, unstable mood, identity, self worth/self criticism, loneliness, isolation, trauma/abuse. I also have extensive experience working with grief and bereavement.
I work in the NHS and in private practice. I hold an MSc in Person Centered Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a Psychology MSc (BPS). My research focus is on identifying and responding to emotions and my papers have been published in the Journal of Addictive Behaviors. Before training as a therapist I read English Literature at Oxford University (BAOxon).
