I have worked with many different people struggling with many different issues over my 18 years experience as a therapist. I am interested in helping clients realise their potential and overcome any internal and external obstacles to this. I am particularly interested in helping people foster positive relationships in the broadest sense, whether with family members, partners, friends, colleague and most importantly with ourselves. I am also specialised in working on issues of culture, identity and social justice. Whether issues from childhood or in your current life I will endeavour to help you grow in confidence and self-belief.
I am interested in existential questions pertaining to the struggles inherent in the human condition. I am passionate about helping people come to terms with past trauma and to live full lives whatever oppression or hardship they have or continue to endure. I sometimes use mindfulness exercises and poetry to enhance sessions when the client is open to this.
I've always been interested in why people feel, do and think as we do. This led me to undertake a psychology degree, qualify as a social worker and then a psychotherapist. It has also led me on my own personal and spiritual journey and I aim to use what I have learned to benefit others. People often say they experience me as warm, solid, honest and ethical.
