About
I am a psychotherapist practising Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Rational-Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT). In addition to private practice, I have experience working as a psychotherapist for the NHS providing CBT for people experiencing depression and anxiety disorders. I also have experience at a London-based drug and alcohol service, providing REBT for those involved with problematic drug and alcohol use and its associated issues. I also have experience at Mind (the mental health charity) providing REBT and CBT for a broad client population experiencing a broad range of problems.
CBT is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that looks at how we think about a situation and the effect this has on the way we act and also on how our actions can in turn affect how we think and feel. CBT is a collaborative therapy: therapist and client work together to help to change the client’s unhelpful thinking patterns, beliefs and behaviours.
I have a successful track record of working collaboratively with clients, to help them to first establish clear goals, both practical and with regards to reducing distress and improving emotional well-being, and then working towards achieving these goals.
