I am a specialist relationship and couples therapist having trained at Tavistock Relationships, the leading centre of excellence for couple psychotherapy. You might seek help with a life transition whether that is living together, becoming parents, blending families, retiring, or seek help with a specific issue such as emotional withdrawal or feeling insecure, sexual intimacy, an affair, bereavement, or facing illness. You might be struggling to communicate with your partner about your needs, feeling anxious within your relationship, or struggling to sustain a relationship with a partner, parent or sibling.
I use a psychodynamic and ISTDP approach where our thoughts and feelings in the present are explored in the context of looking at family relationships and early experiences. Making links with our past and present can bring a greater understanding of where our patterns of behaviour and beliefs come from, and how you relate to others and to yourself.
My approach is compassionate and sensitive, and I offer clients a safe and non-judgmental space to explore anxieties and concerns. I encourage you to be curious about yourself and your partner, and how you have come to be where you are now. I am undergoing a second clinical training in ISTPD, which compliments and deepens the therapy experience for clients.
