About
My name is Dr Karen Leung and I'm a Chartered Counselling Psychologist registered with the BPS and the Health & Care Professions Council. I am a highly skilled psychologist with extensive experience in delivering high quality therapy for individuals in the NHS and in the private sector. Within the NHS, I'm the Lead Psychologist for a mental health service and I work with individuals with a wide range of clinical presentations. I practice multiple models of evidence-based psychological therapy and enjoy working creatively with clients, tailoring individualised evidence-based treatment plans that meets their psychological needs.
I draw upon a range of psychological approaches which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT for Psychosis, EMDR, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) , Couples Therapy, Family Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
I am a therapist who is compassionate, honest, non-judgmental and is dedicated in supporting my clients with overcoming their own personal challenges. I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is essential in facilitating psychological change and I will always strive towards providing a safe and compassionate environment for all my clients.
