My Name is Karen and I am a humanistic Counsellor. I have experience with Anxiety, Depression and Bereavement. When I first meet you I will look at your individual needs and we can first make contact over the phone. I have previously worked as a nurse for many years so have a broad background in Acute Medicine as well as Psychology. I spent many years before qualifying as a psychotherapist working as a Children's nurse so am use to hearing about grief and trauma. I love being a counsellor and my training is based on the work of Carl Rogers; the American Psychologist. Listening with compassion can move pain and hurt into acceptance
I work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have my office at home and my space is very confidential. I can offer appointments in the day and both evenings and I live near a main road with a bus route from Norwich City Centre. I charge 40 pounds for a hour but I also charge 30 pounds for concessions. These include low income, students, pensioners.
My main strength as a Counsellor is I have been told is Empathy. I enjoying empowering people to help themselves on their path in understanding themselves. I believe in difference and diversity and welcome people from all ethnic backgrounds regardless of religion or non belief. I do like to talk with you first before you come as a relaxed introduction to me.
