About
Reaching out for help takes courage, particularly if your self-esteem and confidence are low. But, if you want to make changes in your life then you may need support. People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons; anxiety, relationship issues, depression, bereavement, trauma etc. Perhaps you feel inhibited, have unhealthy patterns of behaviour or your emotions may be hijacking your ability to respond and keep perspective. Whatever the reason, the chances are you are feeling deeply distressed. You don’t have to keep struggling alone. Together we can work out what is causing you to feel threatened, overwhelmed or empty.
I use a number of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client’s individual problems, needs and characteristics. Everyone is different, so expecting someone to fit into one method of therapy is for me, too restrictive. What is common to my approach is that we will work together and I will respect your pace and direction you wish to go in without judgment.
Asking for help when we feel vulnerable shows strength rather than weakness. I have successfully supported adults, children and young people to find their own solutions for overcoming unhealthy beliefs and behaviours. I have an interest in animal-assisted therapy and can provide clients with the opportunity to work with a therapy dog should they wish.
