About
Life can be hard, especially after the last couple of years. Seeing a therapist doesn't mean there's something 'wrong with you'; you may feel now is the right time to work through some of your emotions; or to work through some traumatic experience. You may want to challenge your negative thinking patterns, or need some clarity in some areas of your life. You may feel now is the right time to learn new techniques, which will enable you to cope better, or feel the time is right to focus on personal growth.
Person-centred counselling is a non-directive client lead talking therapy; sessions provide you with a safe place to talk about what's happening for you. The sessions enable you to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions in a controlled and non-judgmental environment. Aspects of CBT are also used in some sessions.
It can often feel scary, nerve wracking and sometimes overwhelming talking to a complete stranger, and it's only natural to feel that way. I provide a friendly, non-judgemental & safe environment within a warm, comfortable and inviting counselling room. I attend supervision once a month and I'm an accredited member of the NCS.
