My initial training was as a Jungian analyst with the British Association of Psychotherapy, now the British Psychotherapy Foundation. I have subsequently trained as a Schema Therapist with Jeff Young in New York. I am registered with the BCP, the ISST and I am a fellow of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Both Schema Therapy and Jungian analysis aim to address deeply embedded patterns of perceiving and relating that ultimately have their origins in childhood experiences and relationships. The nature of a persons attachments to others is a fundamental strand in how I understand symptoms and how therapy works.
I consider therapy a collaborative process. I know something about human development, the unconscious etc, but you are the expert on you. Only you know what things feel like for you and what they mean to you.
