I have a particular interest in working with clients of African and African-Caribbean heritage, especially those with experiences of separation, abandonment, displacement, and spiritual or religious conflict. My work is informed by an awareness of the ongoing systemic barriers these communities often face in accessing mental health support, and the impact this can have on identity, belonging, and wellbeing. At the same time, my intercultural orientation emphasises dialogue across cultures, allowing me to navigate issues of sameness and difference with curiosity and sensitivity.
I use psychodynamic and intercultural psychotherapies, to explore early relationship dynamics and attachment patterns, and their impacts on present life. I have experience facilitating visualisations, breathing exercises, meditation, journaling, bodily sensation awareness and using creative prompts to meet your holistic needs.
You may have learned to be strong, silent, or self-reliant, even while carrying unspoken pain. Therapy with me offers a space where your experiences are understood in context, not pathologised. You don’t have to carry this alone—healing can begin with being deeply seen and heard.
