Hi, I'm Jo and I specialise in working with individuals who are facing struggles in their life due to feelings of low self-worth, anxiety, and shame. Perhaps the emotional pain has led you to engage in behaviours that help you to escape or distract from difficult thoughts or feelings. Sometimes this can show up as out of control behaviours such as gambling, use of pornography, sex, or alcohol/drugs. Sometimes it can lead to overworking and burnout. Would you like to find some compassion and acceptance for all those parts of you? Are there aspects of your behaviours you’d like to change?
In therapy, I can provide a place where you can talk openly and without fear of judgement about any of your struggles. Together we can piece together your story and what has led to this difficulty. I can help you figure out where you would like things to be different and give you the understanding, skills and confidence to make changes in these areas.
I understand that some difficulties can feel particularly scary to bring into the open. I have the experience and knowledge from over 20 years in psychology to help you recognise that there are parts of ourselves that have developed to help protect us or help us survive, and these often need to be acknowledged and understood.
