There are many reasons for seeking out therapy, although we often associate counselling with trauma, loss or coming to terms with difficult events or emotions. Sometimes we may feel 'stuck', replaying events in our mind or even in our relationships. By exploring our story in a safe, confidential space, we can unpick what's holding us back, process, heal and move towards acceptance. At times we may experience a general feeling of dissatisfaction we don't understand. Life isn't so bad so we 'shouldn't' feel this way, should we? We twist ourselves out of shape to live up to the ideals of others. We lose touch with our authentic self.
The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice. Communicating empathic understanding can help us feel listened to and heard and validate our experiences. I will be honest and genuine with you. However your story unfolds during our work together, there is no judgemement. By offering a supportive safe space I have watched many clients flourish.
In these difficult unprecedented times, mental health is a hot topic. We have an opportunity to work towards destigmatising health conditions, services and therapies. It's ok to reach out. Please take that as an invitation to get in touch. I offer face to face, online or telephone sessions for individuals and couples. Very happy for an informal initial chat.
