Hi I'm Jo.
I am a qualified counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My interest in mental health and supporting others led me to train as a counsellor, specialising in working with young people and adults from a wide range of backgrounds. Over the years, I have worked across diverse therapeutic settings including schools, universities, local charities, and private practice, giving me experience in supporting people through many different life challenges and experiences.
I work primarily from a person-centred approach, believing that each person's experiences and needs are unique. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches allowing me to tailor counselling to best support you and your individual circumstances. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in building a trusting therapeutic relationship.
Alongside my counselling work, I have held senior roles within the mental health sector, including at CPSL Mind where I developed and led mental health services and wellbeing programmes. I currently work at the University of Cambridge as a Staff Wellbeing Consultant, leading on staff wellbeing and supporting the development of a healthy workplace.
