About
Hello and welcome! I'm Jim, and I'm a person-centred therapist offering a mindfulness-based approach to psychotherapy. My aim is to make therapy a safe and inviting space to explore whatever is troubling you. At the heart of my practice is the emphasis on building a warm, empathic relationship based on trust, acceptance and authenticity.
The person-centred approach moves away from the idea of the therapist as an expert who can fix you, trusting instead that you have the innate capacity to fulfil your own potential, given the right conditions. A strong and caring therapeutic relationship, based in genuine acceptance and empathic understanding, forms the foundation of person-centred therapy.
In our first session, we'll meet to discuss what brings you to therapy, address any questions or concerns you might have, and see whether it feels right for us to work together. I love my work and consider it a privilege to help people on their journey.
